Access data
When you visit this website, your browser automatically transmits data to our server at Infomaniak in Switzerland: IP address, date and time, the file requested, referrer and browser. We use this data only to run the site securely and without disruption, and we do not combine it with other data. The logs are deleted automatically after a short time.
No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies and embeds no analytics, advertising or social media services. In your browser's session storage we only remember, for the duration of your visit, whether you have paused the motion. This information does not leave your device. The personal preview pages are the one exception: there we count visits, without cookies and without IP addresses (see “Personal preview pages” below).
Fonts and images
The Jost typeface and all images, including the moon maps, are hosted on our server. No data is transmitted to font providers such as Google Fonts or to other third parties.
Contact form and email
When you write to us via the form or by email, we process your details (topic, name, email, message) to answer your inquiry. The form is delivered as an email to our mailbox via our own server; no external form service is involved. To prevent misuse, this email also contains your device's IP address and the time of the request.
So that no request gets lost if sending an email fails, we keep a copy of your details in a protected log file on our server. It cannot be accessed from outside, and we delete the entries after three months at the latest. We keep your email itself for as long as we need it to handle your inquiry; if it leads to an order, the statutory retention obligations apply.
The English version of this website offers no newsletter.
Personal preview pages
We write to individual businesses by letter and, for this purpose, redesign the first screen of their website. We show the draft on a personal preview page at moontechlabs.ch/e/ with a code from the letter; it names the company and addresses the person the letter was sent to. The business address comes from publicly accessible sources, the commercial register or the business's own website. The preview page is not linked anywhere, is blocked for search engines and is deleted 60 days after the letter.
When a preview page is opened, we record the code and the date and time; on the first visit of a day, we receive an email about it. This shows us whether our offer has arrived. We store neither the IP address nor the browser, and we do not count previews that messaging apps fetch for a shared link. We delete this information together with the page, including the related emails.
If you request a conversation via the form on the preview page or write to us, the section “Contact form and email” applies, with one difference: we do not store the IP address. The conversation itself takes place by video (see “Video calls” below). If you do not wish to receive letters from us, a short message to kontakt (at) moontechlabs.ch is enough; we will make a note of it and not write to you again.
In addition to email, customers can reach us via WhatsApp (provider: WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland, a Meta Platforms company). We only use this channel with your consent; you receive the number with your order. We process your mobile number, your profile name and the content of your messages.
Message content is end-to-end encrypted. We have no influence on the connection and usage data that WhatsApp itself collects; a transfer of this data to the USA cannot be ruled out. You can withdraw your consent at any time, by message or by email; after that we will only write to you by email.
Using WhatsApp is voluntary, and the promised response time applies to both channels. We send quotes, approvals and invoices by email. We do not send advertising, newsletters or bulk messages via WhatsApp. More from WhatsApp: whatsapp.com/legal.
Video calls (Proton Meet)
Video calls to which we invite you take place via Proton Meet (provider: Proton AG, Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland). We send you the link by email. You need neither an account nor an app to take part: you join in your browser under a name of your choice, and you can leave your camera switched off.
Video, audio, screen sharing and chat are end-to-end encrypted. According to Proton, it can neither decrypt nor record them and keeps neither content nor metadata after the call, apart from technical logs kept briefly for troubleshooting. To establish the connection, Proton processes technical data such as your IP address. Proton uses various infrastructure providers for this and does not state their locations; it therefore cannot be ruled out that connection data is also processed outside Switzerland. More from Proton: proton.me/meet/privacy-policy.
Recipients and hosting
Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, runs the website, the form and email for us on servers in Switzerland. Infomaniak processes the data only on our behalf. Video calls run via Proton AG, Geneva. Apart from WhatsApp (Meta, Ireland and USA) and possibly the connection of video calls (Proton's infrastructure providers; both see above), we do not disclose your data abroad, and we do not sell it.
Visitors from the EU (GDPR)
We also offer our services to companies in the EU. Where the GDPR applies, we base the processing on the following legal grounds: access data and the prevention of misuse on our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), inquiries via the form or email on taking steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), video calls on the preparation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), letters to businesses, their preview pages and the counting of visits on our legitimate interest in informing business customers about our services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), retention obligations on a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), WhatsApp with customers on the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your data is processed in Switzerland, for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision; WhatsApp data is also processed by Meta, including in the USA (see “WhatsApp” above), and connection data of video calls possibly also by Proton's infrastructure providers (see “Video calls” above). You have the rights under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR and may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in the EU, in particular in your country of residence.
Your rights
You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise them, send us an email. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
